Born and raised in Rupert, mezzo-soprano Kiya Fife has performed throughout various mediums around the Mini-Cassia community since she was 6, from plays, to operas, to singing competitions. Kiya received her Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance at Idaho State University in 2016. She then went on to receive her Master of Music degree in Voice Performance on full scholarship from Washington State University where she taught various voice classes including studio voice. Throughout her university career, Kiya has accumulated an opera and play portfolio which includes leading roles in The Young Frankenstein, Into the Woods, Guys and Dolls, Chanticleer, and Gondoliers. She has also been featured as a soloist in Handel’s Messiah and Holst’s Christmas Day. Kiya was also a featured soloist on Idaho State University’s Chamber Choir International Tour to Great Britain. She has also placed in the top three for the past two years in the regional NATS competition. Along with Kiya’s extensive classical training, she also enjoys performing pop, country, jazz, gospel, and Broadway music. Ms. Fife has been a private voice teacher for 5 years and has accepted a full scholarship to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to pursue a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Voice Performance in August 2018.
