Description
Don’t frost the cake before you bake it! Have you ever tried a cake that was half-baked? It probably didn’t taste very good. Likewise, if you get up to perform and are missing some fundamental music knowledge, it may show in your performance (no matter how much “frosting” you put on to hide it! 😉 In this class we will practice some of the basic “baking” techniques that will help take your voice & performance to the “next level” so you will be ready to serve a fully baked performance…And yes, you will also get to learn some of the “Frosting” techniques as well.
In this class, we will cover:
Vocal Technique: Train your eyes, ears, and mind to read, hear, and think music successfully.
Genres & Music History: Overview of the genres covered at camp…plus perhaps a few more!
Rhythm & Tempo: How to read, hear and perform various rhythms (and WHY this is important!)
Musicality & Performance: How to use a microphone, making conscious choices about movement on stage, memorization techniques, building and portraying characters through music.
